Based on research, technical data, and years of experience using a variety of products manufactured for building docks and swim platforms, Boat Dock Works stands firm on our decision to use only the finest materials available for the construction of heavy-duty, rigid docks.

All materials are cut in custom jigs for precise fit. Any and all joints are beveled before being welded. Our quality steel frames consist of 12″ all welded bar joists, which are constructed of 2″ x 2″ x 1/8″ angle iron and 1/2″ x 1/2″ solid square bars. Double 2″ x 2″ x 3/16″ square tubing is used for upright construction. Roof joints usually consist of 2″ x 4″ or 2″ x 6″ structural rectangular tubing.

Custom picketed handrails and/or bench seats wrap the upper decks. Our in-house paint process consists of a complete acid wash, epoxy primer and two coats of gloss enamel automotive paint, entirely sprayed to provide the finest finish in the marine industry. Hot dipped galvanized finish is also available.

The entire steel frame is set on 10-year shoremaster encapsulated flotation, which is fastened by 1/4″ stainless bolts. Docks sit high (approximately 10″) and level. Roofing material is 26 gauge. All decking is screwed down and trimmed in bumper material. Anchoring includes 4″ steel anchor poles with wenches and/or shorelin anchor system. All cable and hardware is stainless. Hinges and high stress points are always double reinforced.
